On Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023, at 1:27 pm, Turlock Police officers were conducting a stop in the 100 block of Almond Ave, Turlock, and preparing to issue a citation, when they were approached by a man who began recording them.

The officers originally had no issue with the man, later identified as Radni Ghafoori, 51, of Turlock, exercising his constitutional right to record police activity, however, Ghafoori eventually put himself in a position extremely close to the stop. Ghafoori’s proximity to the stop caused interference and officers had to shift their attention from it to Ghafoori.

Officers decided to detain Ghafoori in handcuffs and he began to resist them while they were doing so.

Eventually, Ghafoori was arrested and released on a citation on the charge of obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty.

A cops job is hard enough without fools interfering (not only for what the person did but also if they may have a gun)….glad they cited him.
