Cold-plated vehicle called in as dangerous driver leads officer on pursuit Wednesday afternoon


On Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, at 4:36 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported dangerous driver near the intersection of Geer Rd and W Monte Vista Ave, Turlock, who was running red lights and passing in the turn lane.

As an officer was looking for the vehicle, he located it and attempted to make a traffic stop on it near the intersection of E Canal Dr and N Palm St.

The driver of the vehicle took off from the officer, driving through a neighborhood and eventually leaving the city southbound on S Golden State Blvd. The officer chased the vehicle up to Griffith Rd, where he eventually lost it as it either turned onto Griffith Rd or merged onto southbound State Route 99.

The pursuit lasted about three minutes and covered a total distance of about four miles.

The license plate on the vehicle was later determined to not belong to it.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
