Trespasser arrested after attempting to run from officers early Sunday morning

On Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at 2:16 am, a Turlock Police officer near the 100 block of S Palm St, Turlock, was flagged down by a resident stating that someone was trespassing in their backyard.

Additional officers arrived to assist with searching the backyard and they located a man later identified as Ryan Handy, 20, of Turlock, attempting to hide.

When officers identified themselves to Handy, he ran towards the fence in an attempt to evade them, however, they quickly captured him before he was able to do so.

Handy was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of trespassing, vandalism, public intoxication, and obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
