Woman arrested on two misdemeanor warrants after being spotted slumped over in vehicle Monday night

On Monday, April 3rd, 2023, at 9:41 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a security check at AutoZone, 1272 Geer Rd, after a woman had been seen slumped over behind the wheel of a parked vehicle with a pit bull.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted Cassandra Chastain, 30, of Waterford, who woke up and stated that she was okay.

When officers had their dispatcher run Chastain, they discovered that she had two misdemeanor bench warrants. The first one was a $2,500 local one for possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia, while the second one was a $5,000 one out of Ripon for possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Chastain was arrested and released on a citation on her warrants.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
