|

On Monday, April 24th, 2023, at 3:47 am, the Turlock Fire Department and California Highway Patrol were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire southbound State Route 99 just south of Lander Ave, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a Greyhound intercity bus that had a small engine compartment fire which had already automatically put itself out with a fire suppression system.

The bus had about ten passengers at the time, none of which were injured. They walked themselves to the Turlock Rest Area just down the freeway, where they were eventually picked up by another bus relatively quickly.

It’s currently unknown how the fire occurred.
