On Sunday, June 18th, 2023, at 4:16 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense in progress near the intersection of Wayside Dr and N Olive Ave, Turlock, after a woman had been seen walking down the street attempting to throw a knife at passing vehicles and cutting a tree with it.

When officers arrived in the area, they located a woman later identified as Heather Daniels, 35, of Turlock, who matched the suspect description, so they attempted to make contact with her.

Daniels displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence and began running away from officers as they approached her, despite being given several lawful orders to stop.

Officers were able to eventually catch up to Daniels nearby and handcuff her.

Daniels was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty and disorderly conduct.
