Man arrested on two misdemeanor warrants after deputy observes suspicious behavior Monday night

On Monday, June 26th, 2023, at 11:10 pm, a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy near the intersection of E Glenwood Ave and Fifth St, Turlock, observed a man suspiciously walking through people’s front yards, so he attempted to make contact with him.

As the deputy activated his emergency lights and order that the man, Branden Kennedy, 35, of Turlock, stop, he took off running from the deputy.

Kennedy was eventually able to be apprehended within a minute with no use of force, however, he hit his own head against the ground.

American Medical Response was requested for a checkout and Kennedy refused transport.

After the deputy identified Kennedy and had his dispatcher run him, he discovered that he had two misdemeanor bench warrants out of Mariposa County. The first was a $45,000 one for narcotic charges, while the second was a $20,000 one for failing to appear on unknown charges.

Kennedy was arrested and released on a citation on his warrants.
