Felon with pepper spray and ammo arrested after causing disturbance early Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, at 4:14 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported disturbance at a business in the 2400 block of Geer Rd, Turlock, for a man hitting the front doors with a stick.

When officers arrived in the area, they found and contacted a man nearby who matched the description. He was identified as Jorge Perez, 57, of Winton.

During the contact, Perez was found to be in possession of pepper spray. Further investigation revealed that he was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing any, thus he was arrested.

Perez was searched incident to arrest and the search revealed that he was also in possession of ammunition.

Perez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and possession of a tear gas weapon by a convicted felon or person convicted of an assault crime.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
