Ten-Foot-Deep Trash Pit Catches Fire

At about 12:36am Wednesday morning, Turlock Fire and Turlock Police responded to a vegetation fire at E. F Street and S. Golden State Boulevard.

When units arrived on scene, they reported a 20×20 fire in the field just west of the 1000 block of S. Center Street, making it just outside the city.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented any extension, discovering that it was actually in a ten-foot-deep trash pit that transients had been using.

No injuries were reported.

Turlock Rural Fire was notified that Turlock City Fire had responded to their incident.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
