To help those who are trying to quit smoking during 2015, the Emanuel Cancer Center will host two free seminars about smoking and lung cancer.

“What’s really important for people to know is that it is possible to quit,” said Dr. Mohamed Eldaly, a medical oncologist at Emanuel Specialty Care – Medical Oncology. “It may take three or four tries, or even six or seven, but the payoff for the smoker and their family is huge.”

Many find that quitting smoking is incredibly difficult, however medical experts will tell you to try and try again.

“Even if you’ve tried to quit in the past but still smoke, it’s worth quitting again,” Dr. Eldaly said. “It is hard to do, but millions of people have been successful, and you can too.”

An evening seminar will be held on Jan. 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Emanuel Cancer Center, located at 880 E. Tuolumne Rd. The seminar will be repeated on Jan. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., also at the Emanuel Cancer Center.

The seminars are free, but pre-registration is required. Call 209-250-5355 to register.
