The railroad tracks at Monte Vista were scheduled to be closed from Aug. 8 to Aug. 10 but Union Pacific Railroad has pushed the days back. The road is now scheduled to take place Monday, Aug. 22 to Wednesday, Aug. 24 and will be in effect at all hours.
The Turlock Library has a variety of free programs for all ages planned for the month of August. On Aug. 9, anyone is welcome to created Upcycled Pencil Cases at 4 p.m. VCR cases among other materials will be used by crafters to make pencil cases. Children under 4 years of age will need direct parental supervision to participate.

Every year, cities across the nation participate in National Night out, an event that helps strengthen the relationship between the community and police while barbecuing and having a great time. This will be Turlock’s 8th year participating in the event that the city has received an award from the National Association of Town Watch for the community’s participation.
Manjinder Singh, a 26 year old Turlock man who suffers from a kidney failure autoimmune disease, is looking for someone willing to donate a kidney. Diagnosed over 2 years ago, Singh was a top tennis player and studying to become a doctor. He is currently studying and preparing to take the mcat but he needs a kidney soon.
The Turlock Animal Shelter currently has a large amount of found pets. If their owners do not reclaim them by a certain date, the animal will be available for adoption.
A black domestic shorthair cat is currently at the Turlock Animal Shelter.
Bikrambir Singh, 32 year old male, was recently arrested for stabbing another man with kitchen knife. Turlock Police Department responded to a possible aggravated assault at 12 p.m. on June 21 at the Park Knolls Apartments, located on the 1100 block of Pedras Road.
A beautiful queensland mix is up for adoption at the Turlock Animal Shelter. She is spayed and approximately one year old.
