Soiseth, White Keep Large Campaign Contributions Coming In TurlockCityNews.com
After TurlockCityNews.com took a look at the campaign forms for the 2014 November General Election, it appeared that the race for the Mayor of Turlock was headed toward record spending, and the trend continues with more money rolling in.

More than $40,000 was contributed to the two mayoral candidates, Gary Soiseth and Mike Brem, with Soiseth taking an early lead in support after the first filling period ending on June 30.

Between Aug. 6 and the day before the election, Nov. 3, candidates are required to report any received contribution of $1,000 or more within 24 hours; candidates are also required to report within 24 hours any contribution made in the excess of $1,000 made to another candidate, a measure, or political party committee.

Only Soiseth, under the campaign name Gary Soiseth for Mayor 2014, has reported new contributions of $1,000 or more, receiving three $1,500 contributions.

On Aug. 19, Soiseth received a $1,500 contribution from Ryan Martel, a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Senate. According to Congress.org, Martel is a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI).

Soiseth received two $1,500 contributions, one from David R. Young and one from Corrine L. Young, who are both local veterinarians.

With $32,402 in contributions after the June 30 filling period, Soiseth is now up near $37,000 in contributions, not including those contributions under $1,000 that have not yet been reported.

Brem, under the campaign name Mike Brem for Mayor 2014, reported $8,923.99 in contributions up to the first filling period. No contributions of $1,000 or more have been reported by Brem as of Sept. 17.

Soiseth isn’t the only candidate who has reported recent contributions. Forrest White received a contribution of $1,000 from Alan and Kathy Marchant, the owners of Turlock Scavenger, on Aug. 12.

White is the only Turlock City Council candidate who has reported contributions since the June 30 filling period.

Matthew Jacob reported a single loan of $1,500 during the initial filing period, however, an amended document that covers through July 31 shows an additional $5,000 in loans and a $200 contribution.

Donald Babadalir filed an FPPC 410 form showing his campaign name is Donald Babadalir for Council 2014, but did not have an active monetary campaign prior to July 1 and has not reported any monetary contributions since the first filing period.

Incumbent Bill DeHart did not file FPPC campaign forms for the first period ending June 30, as he did not yet have an active campaign. DeHart has not reported any monetary contributions.

Sergio Alvarado, running for City Council, also did not have a campaign prior to July 1 and has no FPPC filed at this time.

The next filing period ends on Oct. 6, when candidates will be required to submit the FPPC Form 470 or 460 reporting contributions and expenditures as of that date.

Because they want to keep their welfare checks coming in from the Federal Government. Soiseth worked - err - did something for a money for the USDA which is responsible for the Farm Bills - don't you stupid people get it already? All White or Soiseth want is more tax payer money that is stolen through taxation so they can live lavishly while you languish.

Wake up and smell the coffee Turlock - no one is looking out for YOU!

Including Soiseth need to be thrown out on their welfare farming butts. I'm tired of these government "elected" officials collecting a check for not really doing anything besides collecting a fat check and pension/medical while everyone else is struggling.

I wonder how much money Soiseth and White would be spending if the federal government wasn't able to steal labor through constitutionally legal taxation by threat of violence.

Take back your freedom and your labor. Demand that labor cannot be taxed and start withholding as much productivity from the government as possible. All that the government is going to do with your money is give it to someone else after keeping a large portion for themselves. They will send more kids to overseas to shoot at brown people for corporate interests, call them heroes all the while screwing the wounded who come home, and shaming US female troops who are sexually assaulted by their fellow male troops, or, even better, commanding officers. The government has no interest in your besides making sure you keep watching the football games, drinking the kool aid, and working.

Is Soiseth or White, or for that matter, any government official going to support a true measure of freedom: that labor is sacred and must not be taxed? Or will they continue to go along with our imposed slavery so that they can get a slice of the pie?

It's your choice people - no one else.

Well with looking at the numbers I would say someone has been bought. I just wished money could be raised that fast for good causes not political jack asses that they are.
