Turlock will be hosting some big names in the movie and television industry in the coming weeks with a visit from Rich Correll and his production team from Los Angeles. He and his team will be in Turlock later in the month to produce a music video for a tween girl pop group called The PreZcotts.
Correll has had great success in the industry as he was the creator of Disney's “Hannah Montana,” “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody,” “That's So Raven,” and “Family Matters.”
“His (Correll’s) involvement is huge for Turlock,” said casting director and stylist for the project Whitney Oliver. “The people involved in this project are heavy hitters and it's going to be really exciting to see the ripple effect of the finished product.”
The production is looking for up to 25 extras from the local area to come to an open casting call to be held in Turlock this Thursday.
They are looking for girls and boys between 12 and 17 of all ethnicities for the video. They will especially be keeping their eyes open for attractive males between the ages of 14 and 17 to play opposite the four girls in The PreZcotts.
The PreZcotts are four sisters originally from Modesto, and are signed with Turlock based production company “Protégé Music.”
Protégé Music is owned by Matt Swanson and the PreZcotts are managed by Frank Munoz, who has previously worked with Metallica. The production company for the project is Michael George's "Balance Pictures," based out of Los Angeles and is often affiliated with MGM.
There will be talent agencies at the casting call Thursday, and those who make final cuts will meet with Producer Correll himself the following Saturday. Correll will then make the ultimate decision for the lucky 25 boys and girls to be a part of this experience.
Oliver said that although a big team is coming from Los Angeles, most of the vendors and employees are carefully selected locals.
“This will be a stepping stone for future film/entertainment projects as it becomes clear that Turlock can offer top quality project results at a fraction of the price,” said Oliver. “The draw to film up here for Rich Correll and team was the opportunity to film an LA standard production at much less cost.”
