Dr. Alan (Mid Valley Large Animal Service, dairy practice) and Angela Raeburn own the newly opened Rapid Refill in Turlock. The business ran by husband and wife, stems from the belief that the entrepreneurial spirit continues to exist and that services that save people money are in big demand.
Rapid Refill opened on January 13, 2009 at 859 W. Hawkeye Avenue (Hawkeye and Golden State). The owners liked the location because it was a busy intersection and caddy corner from the fairgrounds. The new business development has two clients, Rapid Refill and their neighbor Los Gallos restaurant.

People asked the Raeburns if it was a good idea to open at this time.
“We were already on the road to opening before the recession,” said Angela. “We realized the ability to join the green environment movement while also reducing the cost of ink and toner needs.”
Save the environment and save money.
The Rapid Refill store, located in the new shopping center on Hawkeye and Golden State in Turlock, supports the environment more than you might think. The store sells recycled ink cartridges but also has counter tops made of reused sunflower seed shells and their carpet is made from recycled milk cartons, even the walls are made from recycled material.
Angela really gets passionate about saving the environment but Dr. Alan says “the ultimate goal is to save customers money on quality products.”
Rapid Refill in Turlock can accomplish the goal of saving money instantly when customers decide to buy quality recycled ink or toner products. Recycled ink cartridges can cost half as much as name brands (that are also stocked at Rapid Refill).
The Raeburns decided to open a Rapid Refill in Turlock because they live here and felt there was a market to provide affordable ink and toner products. “There were not a lot of recycling ink and toner operations in this area. If it did exist, we would have been customers,” said Angela.
Guaranteed Quality, no back room “drill and fill.”
The big difference between Rapid Refill and most other recycling places is that the Raeburns don’t drill and fill in the back room.
Dr. Alan said “We leave that for the experts, we provide the products.” All the products are remanufactured, cleaned out, replaced by appropriate ink, tested, and packaged by the franchise making for more consistent better quality.
The Raeburns both wanted to assure everyone that all the products are guaranteed. The Rapid Refill owners are personally committed to strong customer service. If a customer is not satisfied with a product for any reason, they can go directly to the owners and ask for an exchange or refund.
Community business partner.
The Turlock Rapid Refill can fulfill business needs by providing internet ordering, free same day delivery, and of course the cost reducing recycled ink and toner products.
Dr. Alan and Angela Raeburn are currently working to partner with the city, schools, non-profits, and other organizations that would benefit from recycled ink and toner products while being impacted by reduced budgets during this tough economic time.
The Turlock Chamber of Commerce will throw a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the new Rapid Refill store in April.
The Turlock Rapid Refill is located at 859 W. Hawkeye Avenue and is open Mon-Fri from 9am – 8pm, Sat 10am – 6pm, and Sun 11am – 4pm. For more information, call (209) 668-8217.
