A proud, raucous crowd of family and friends greeted the Roselawn High School Class of 2014 on Wednesday. For many of the nearly 90 graduates, the road to Roselawn had some bumps. But once they came to the school, many students found the environment they needed to take the next step in their education.

A young man and woman stood in the Safeway parking lot yesterday, holding a sign asking for help with their baby. The sign asked patrons for help with food and milk. The couple smiled and waved to people as they drove by. In between cars stopping, the couple chatted and embraced each other, or the woman texted on her phone. Their sign read "God bless" at the end.

Around Turlock – May 27

One Turlocker decided to have a field day in the storm basin at the corner of Crowell Road and Gettysburg Street. The storm basin, which is connected to Rotary International Park, formerly Gettysburg Park, is often used for baseball or soccer practice. Practice may be cancelled this week, as most of the field is dug-up from someone allegedly doing donuts.

More than 2,500 Graduating from CSU Stanislaus, Ceremonies on Thursday, Friday

Three commencement ceremonies for California State University, Stanislaus graduates will be held Thursday and Friday. More than 2,500 graduates from CSU Stanislaus will be honored over the two days. The ceremony for undergraduates from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and the College of Education will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29.
