CSU Stanislaus Ranked 28th Best College by TIME Magazine

California State University Stanislaus has been ranked 28th out of 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide by TIME Magazine. The TIME Magazine rankings are based on a college rating system developed by President Barack Obama’s administration. The system is based on graduation rate, accessibility and affordability. The rankings were based on six-year graduation rate, average tuition, and the percentage of students receiving federal Pell Grants, the federally funded scholarships for low-income families. Each of those areas are weighted equally in the ranking formula.

Around Turlock – May 6

There was an interesting sight awaiting parents dropping off their students at Turlock Junior High School on Tuesday morning. An older model sedan made its way into the field adjacent to Winter Haven Drive. Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis said the sedan was a stolen vehicle that had been abandoned. The vehicle was later towed out of the field.

Community Comes Together to Love Turlock

One Turlock woman, a cancer patient, got a loving surprise this weekend, as Love Turlock volunteers gathered Saturday to spread across the city and evangelize through doing. The woman, who lives near downtown on Julian Street, asked Love Turlock if they could do a good deed for her neighbors this Saturday. She asked as she wished to thank her neighbors for their kindness and help during her treatment.

Relay For Life Draws Crowd, Raises Money for American Cancer Society

Team members powered around the makeshift track at Pitman High School Saturday, celebrating, remembering, and fighting back for Relay For Life. Green grass, colorful tents, and the smiles of those participating filled the Turlock school’s campus for 24 hours, including people from all walks of life.
