Spring is in the air, which may or may not be a good thing for those suffering from allergies. Sneezing aside, spring brings beautiful colors and landscape when it rolls through Turlock, including this poppy field near the edge of town.
No parking signs line Drew Avenue between Pedras and Tuolumne roads due to some ongoing construction in the area. The City of Turlock awarded Rolfe Construction of Atwater the bid to make Drew Avenue improvements, which includes replacement of a failing sewer main pipe and installing storm drain improvements.
California State University, Stanislaus was recently ranked 26th out of 442 nursing schools in “America’s Best Nursing School – West Region” list published by NurseJournal.org. To determine the rankings, 20 metrics were grouped into categories that examine the quality, affordability, convenience, satisfaction, and value of each program.
It’s not a secret that Turlock is full of San Francisco Giants fans, however at least one made their way to Arizona. A Giants fan holding a “What’s Up Turlock?!” sign was captured by the camera during last night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, in Phoenix.

The following is a letter to the editor submitted by Mike Renney, Head Softball Coach of Simon Fraser University, of Canada. Each of the past few years our University Softball team from Simon Fraser University up here in Canada, takes in the Cal. State Stanislaus tournament and this year was no exception. In each of our visits to your community we have been nothing but pleased with the hospitality we have received, and by way of this letter would like to express our appreciation to so many who added to our visit.
