After 38 years in education, Turlock Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Sonny Da Marto has announced his retirement. “I’m very proud to have been the superintendent in this school district,” said Da Marto at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting. “I’ve decided at the end of this year to retire.”
For nearly a year, the Turlock Town Center has been awaiting a new anchor tenant expected to bring new life to the embattled shopping center. dd’s Discounts, a clothing retailer for women, men, and children, has announced that it will be joining the shopping center located on Golden State Boulevard where Geer Road dead-ends.
Domino’s Pizza has recently rolled out a social media campaign that encourages pizza lovers to tattle on their local Domino’s location. In 2012, Domino’s released a new logo that no longer featured the word “pizza,” however not all locations have adopted the changes.
The new India Oven restaurant, located at 2300 W. Monte Vista Ave. next to, is now open. The parcel formerly housed Panda South, which recently closed its doors.
After more than 30 years in the fair industry, Chief Executive Officer of the Stanislaus County Fair Chris Borovansky has announced his retirement. “The fair industry has been my life and I am extremely proud to be ending my career at the Stanislaus County Fair,” said Borovansky in a news release.
A row of empty parcels stand in the Turlock Town Center, which has slowly been vacated by business after business. Goodwill moved locations within the shopping center, however, most others have simply been leaving.
