Although Turlock Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram moved into a mostly empty Turlock Auto Plaza a few years ago, some of the former dealership locations remain empty. The parcel located at 1901 Auto Mall Dr. remains empty after the auto mall saw many dealerships close their doors in 2008.
The Red Cross teamed up with the Turlock Fire Department on Jan. 17 to install 130 smoke detectors in a Turlock neighborhood. In addition to the installed smoke detectors, volunteers from Red Cross and Turlock Fire Department installed 100 carbon monoxide monitors and changed the batteries in 78 smoke detectors.
Found this cat on the corner of Minnesota Ave. and Annhurst Ave. in Turlock on Saturday 1/24/2015. She looks healthy and well taken care of.
With more and more people carrying cell phones, many probably have not touched a pay phone in years. Turlock, however, is still the home to several around town, such as this one in the parking lot of the AMPM located on the corner of Olive Avenue and Golden State Boulevard.
Turlock Unified School District educational farm is finally moving forward, after purchasing land for the project in April of 2013, thanks to several donations. The 10-acre parcel, located at 625 E. Taylor Rd., was purchased by TUSD on April 9, 2013 to hands-on learning opportunities for TUSD ag students.
