Turlock, Stanislaus County Libraries to Host Technology Training

This January, several branches of the Stanislaus County Library, including the Turlock Public Library, will host instructional programs on the library’s electronic resources. The public library currently offers free eBooks through the 3M Cloud Library, eMagazines through Zinio, downloadable audiobooks through Hoopla, and Mango Languages for all library customers.

Fourth of July Fireworks Returning to CSU Stanislaus

After being cancelled in 2009, the California State University, Stanislaus announced that the popular Fourth of July celebration and firework show is finally returning to the University. The Fourth of July tradition attracted more than 200,000 people to the University, before being cancelled after 24 years.

As the holidays have come and gone, and the headache of sitting in traffic in Monte Vista Crossings has passed, some have began to notice several neon signs in the shopping center to be missing. Pictured is Mattress Discounters with two dimmed letters, but Jamba Juice and Starbucks, among others, also had a portion of their signs out.

Turlock Library to Host Book Club, Craft Events for January

The Turlock Public Library will offer crafts for all ages, a community book club event, and a LEGO playday for children and their families, all during during the month of January. On Jan. 6, children will learn how to make a “Frosty Puppet Pal.” The library will supply paper bags and assorted craft materials for crafters to use to personalize their puppets. This winter craft, which will be begin at 4 p.m., is sponsored by the Friends of the Turlock Library.

Signs posted along the Taylor Road bike path allow for only bicyclists and pedestrians to use the pathway. The Taylor Road bike path runs parallel to Taylor Road between North Tegner Road and Country Walk Lane.

Around Turlock – January 1

While most people make the New Year’s resolution to being healthier or getting in shape, In-Shape City members had to wait an extra day to get started. The In-Shape City, located at 2710 Geer Rd., had an empty parking lot as it was closed on New Year’s Day.
