While Halloween night turned out to be more trick than treat with a stormy night for the kids around Turlock, the holiday wasn’t ruined for all. Many kids got their chance to go trick-or-treating Downtown, before the bad weather hit.
A sign now stands in the place of a tree that was clipped by a semi truck traveling down Geer Road on Tuesday evening. The trailer of the truck caught the tree, and cable and phone lines, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis. No one was injured in the collision.
Thanks to a massive community “cow herding” fundraising effort to raise more than $18,000, a group of 23 Turlock High School FFA students are currently in Kentucky to attend the National FFA Convention in Louisville. Amongst the THS students, Peter DiGrazia, Kayla Hilvers, Alexander Luis, Gene Silviera and Mark Vieira are all receiving their American FFA Degrees — the highest level of membership and the final step in the FFA system that encourages youth to establish themselves into an ag-related career. Only about 3,500 are distributed each year at the Convention.
It’s no secret that much of Turlock is filled with San Francisco Giants fans, and some people have been looking to capitalize on that. A table was set up outside of Red Robin, located on the corner of Monte Vista Avenue and Countryside Drive, with Giants hats and shirts for sale.

Gas prices at several locations in Turlock have finally dropped below $3, according to GasBuddy. The cheapest gas in Turlock, according to GasBuddy, is currently $2.91 at Costco regular unleaded gas. Safeway has the next cheapest at $2.97 — although this price is for cash or debit only.
