Monte Vista Vet Collecting Food for Needy Dogs and Cats

Throughout October, Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital (Monte Vista Vet) is asking the animal-loving community of Turlock to donate food for needy dogs and cats through the Trick or Treat Charity Pet Food Drive. Often times dogs and cats are the first to suffer when an owner of family are less fortunate and Monte Vista Vet wants to help those animals and their families. All donations will be benefit the pets of guests at the Turlock Gospel Mission and United Samaritans.

Pitman Band Parents Irate Over District Transportation Policy

There was one clear determination made from Tuesday’s Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting — don’t toot your horn at the Pitman Pride Marching Band parents and boosters. More than 30 band parents and student crowded the Professional Development Center voicing their stern opposition to the TUSD transportation policy in regards to how Boosters pay for transportation to band reviews and band activities in cities across California.

Turlock High Senior is a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist

When you meet Henna Hundal, you can instantly tell that she is a young lady with a powerful brain. Through her maturity and speaking ability she seems more like a college senior or a graduate student, rather than a senior at Turlock High School. Hundal is a student and a human being with the intelligence and internal drive to do big things in this world. Recently her accomplishments are getting noticed, as Hundal was selected as a semifinalist for the 2015 National Merit Scholar Program. She will go on to compete for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million to be offered next spring.
