Oak Park Apartment Resident Says Gas Leak Could Have Killed Dozens

Oak Park Apartments resident David Silva says a gas leak inside his apartment Wednesday evening could have potentially killed dozens of people if an explosion would have occurred. Silva says Oak Park management, which is owned by Eugene Burger Management Corporation in Sacramento, hired a third-party company to remove an existing washer/dryer unit and install a new unit with a gas-operated clothes dryer.

A driver ended up in the bushes in Balboa Park on Tuesday, after allegedly hitting the gas a little too hard. Tow trucks on scene were forced to wait before dragging the vehicle out of the bushes, as the SUV collided with the electrical unit.

TUSD Announce Lillian Escobar, Jacqueline Vazquez as Students of the Month

Wakefield Elementary sixth graders Lillian Escobar and Jacqueline Vazquez were selected as this month’s Turlock Unified School District’s Character Counts Students of the Month for the character trait of trustworthiness. Lillian is in Mr. Valia’s class. Her parents are Carol and Mike Armstrong and she has a brother, Alex who is in eighth-grade at Dutcher Middle School.
