As Turlock’s Downtown has been re-awakened more and more over the past few years, parking spaces have become harder to come by — or so people think. This parking lot, located at West Main Street and Lander Avenue, provides free public parking to Turlockers going Downtown, but usually it’s empty. It seems people are mostly unaware of its existence and the fact that it is free.

Due to lack of shade, few may dare to tread the Trans-California Pathway as of late, but still it remains a beautiful piece of the campus. The pathway sits on the southeast section of the California State University, Stanislaus campus, and was dedicated in 2012— nearly 30 years after the pathway was proposed.

Turlock Fire Hosting CPR Training Class, Only 2 Spots left

Area residents interested in becoming CPR certified should clear their schedule on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Turlock Fire Department will be hosting a CPR class in cooperation with the American Safety Health Institute. The training will focus on adult and child/infant CPR/AED and will cost $35.00 a person. The class is limited to 12 people who have paid and registered. The last day to register is Tuesday, Aug. 5.
