How often do you stop for a pedestrian, crossing at a crosswalk? California law requires drivers yield to pedestrians when they are crossing within a crosswalk. However, this law does not allow pedestrians to suddenly leave the curb to cross.In this instance, a pedestrian in a motorized scooter was seen crossing Geer Road at the Pedras Road intersection. Although the pedestrian crossed on a red light, drivers didn’t take the time to stop.

Take Pride in Turlock with Free Dump Day Saturday

The City of Turlock and Turlock Scavenger Company are partnering to host “Take Pride in Turlock” on Saturday, where residents may freely dispose of their trash.From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Turlock residents can bring their trash to be disposed of at the Turlock Transfer Station, located at 1100 S. Walnut Rd.

The Stanislaus County Library is hosting three contests for kids who want to get creative this summer.The Stanislaus County Library is looking for creative, young artists to submit original artwork that focuses on the theme of reading, libraries, or books with a chance for the art to be turned into a bookmark.There are three age categories (0-4, 5-8, 9-12), and one artist’s work from each category will be selected.
