“Safer Routes to School” Brings Bike Rodeos, Audits to Turlock Schools

The City of Turlock continues to make bicycling and walking safer in Turlock through its development of an Active Transportation Plan, and the consultants of this plan will be working hard in Turlock next week to move the plan forward. Four Bike Skills Rodeos will be held May 12 through the 15 to teach children bike safety. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday’s rodeos will be held at Julien Elementary, Dennis Earl Elementary, and Medeiros Elementary, respectively, at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday’s rodeo will be held at Crowell Elementary at 1:15 p.m.

Kaepernick in Running for Madden 15 Cover

Colin Kaepernick, star quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers and a Turlock native, is in the running for to be the cover star of the Madden NFL 15 video game.Kap is one of 16 NFL stars in the running for the cover, and the No. 2 seed on his side of the bracket. He is facing off against Philadelphia Eagles breakout quarterback Nick Foles in the first round.
