PMZ Real Estate Donates 23 Bicycles to Salvation Army

The PMZ Real Estate offices in Turlock donated 23 brand new bicycles to the Salvation Army on Thursday to be gifted to less fortunate children this Christmas. According to Laith Warda, real estate agent for PMZ, 23 brand new bikes were collected by PMZ Real Estates’ two Turlock locations, on Geer Road and Fulkerth Road, in only eight days.

Pitman’s Crusin’ Campus Supervisors

About two months ago Pitman High School campus supervisors began utilizing a new patrol device — four brand new black with green trim Elektra cruiser bicycles — and they say the cruisers have been nothing but beneficial. Campus Supervisors Lisa Narciso, Leo Pulido, Zac Sward and Rudy Estrada all say the bikes have improved their ability to communicate face-to-face with students.

Inter-District Transfers Into TUSD Schools Climbing

The number of inter-district transfers coming into Turlock Unified School District is up by 117 students, from 535 students to 652 students, this school year, but there is more to the story than meets the eye. Nearly half of the 652 students coming into TUSD are transferring in from the financially strapped and troubled Denair Unified School District, totaling 303 students.

Members of the California State University, Stanislaus donated 700 toys to Turlock Together. The Warriors Together Toy Drive raised 700 toys through contributions from CSU Stanislaus faculty, staff, and students; all of the toys were donated to Turlock Together.

CSU Stanislaus Applications Skyrocket, No. 1 in State

After receiving many recent accolades, California, State University Stanislaus can add one more — No. 1 in admissions. Applications for admission to CSU Stanislaus from first-time freshmen are up 13.4 percent this year, the largest increase in the entire CSU system, and the two-year increase was 22.8 percent, also the largest in the system.
