TUSD to Remove 22 Historic Elm Trees at District Office

Sadly, all living things must eventually die, no matter their beauty. But with death, often comes new life. This is the case at the Turlock Unified School District Office on the corner of Canal Drive and Colorado Avenue, where this winter TUSD staff will begin an estimated two-year process to remove 22 American elm trees that are dead or rapidly dying.

TID Donates 39 Computers to Fusion Charter School

Fusion Charter, Turlock’s newest seventh through 12th-grade school, received a boost Friday when Turlock Irrigation District delivered a sizable donation of 39 Dell desktop computers. TID spokesperson Calvin Curtin says the computers were going to be e-recycled but it occurred to him it would be more beneficial for the community if they were donated and he thought of Fusion Charter, which had previously reached out to TID for support.

Around Turlock – November 6

Many who were stopped in the traffic caused by the collision that claimed the life of a Turlock man on Thursday afternoon may have noticed a pile of smoke coming from the Farmers & Merchants Bank on Geer Road. A vehicle had caught fire, but members of the Turlock Fire Department were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
