Pitman High Celebrates Kiss the Pig

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Pitman High School FFA and other student groups held a “Kiss the Pig” event on Oct. 23. FFA student and Think Pink Chairperson, senior Mckenze Darche, says the Kiss the Pig drive was held to raise money for breast cancer research and students placed pink pig milk jugs in numerous classrooms throughout campus to collect coins.

Turlock High School Celebrates Homecoming

The atmosphere on the Turlock High campus Friday was electric as much of the student body was amped for the homecoming spirit rallies and game between the THS Bulldogs and the Atwater Falcons.  The homecoming rallies featured teachers and students playing “guess the song,” a relay race, a cheer routine of music from past decades, a salute to senior football players and the girl’s golf team. The highlights were of course the naming of the homecoming queen nominees and a hilarious video of THS teacher photos from the past — when they were either in high school or as young staff members.

Around Turlock – October 25

Turlock has its fair share of graffiti around town, however in one residential neighborhood the graffiti looks a little different. Along a residential fence on Rockwood Avenue, between Boxwood Avenue and Ninth Street, graffiti reads “Spray Where You Live.”

Around Turlock – October 23

Hundreds of Pitman High School students, staff and administration celebrated “Think Pink” on Thursday for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink clothing or accessories. Think Pink helps students and staff to keep in mind those loved ones who have suffered or beaten breast cancer. According the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death amongst women in the United States.
