The atmosphere on the Turlock High campus Friday was electric as much of the student body was amped for the homecoming spirit rallies and game between the THS Bulldogs and the Atwater Falcons.
The homecoming rallies featured teachers and students playing “guess the song,” a relay race, a cheer routine of music from past decades, a salute to senior football players and the girl’s golf team. The highlights were of course the naming of the homecoming queen nominees and a hilarious video of THS teacher photos from the past — when they were either in high school or as young staff members.
Shortly after the second homecoming rally was completed THS had its yearly parade down Main Street in Downtown Turlock.
At halftime of the football game THS named Lauryn Johnson the 2014-15 Homecoming Queen. Janelle Martinez and Hannah Lewis were the runners up. As per tradition, THS does not have a Homecoming King.
Lastly, the football team capped of a surely unforgettable day with a 56-7 drubbing of Atwater High at Joe Debely Stadium.
