Lines painted on southbound Crowell Road, at the Monte Vista Avenue intersection, now designate a lane for motorists making right turns onto Monte Vista Avenue. Motorists have long squeezed between the vehicles making left turns or going straight and the curb to make a right turn, but they now have a designated turn lane.

Charter to Double Internet Speeds For Free

It’s not too often something for nothing comes along, but by the end of this year all Charter Communications customers in Turlock will get a free speed upgrade to their internet service from 30Mbps to 60 Mbps. And for all those “HD snobs” out there, Charter customers will also gain access to more than 200 HD video channels — the largest channel lineup from any provider in the market.

Lander Businesses Say Homeless Encampment Driving Away Customers

Several businesses and homeowners in the 900 block of Lander Avenue and immediate area are fed up with what they deem to be an on-going homeless encampment behind their establishments and property. Jalos Auto Sales, Ruiz Tire Shop, along with Rita’s Hair Salon, and a national chain restaurant all have store fronts that face Lander Avenue, but behind them is the dead-end of Eighth Street, which butts up against Lander.

The City of Turlock continues to work on sidewalks around town — this time on the corner of Christoffersen Parkway and Colorado Avenue. With the sidewalk closed, signs posted in the area ask pedestrians to use the sidewalk on the other side of Christoffersen Parkway.

Owners of Larsa Banquet Hall Suing Residential Neighbors for At Least $500k

The owners of Larsa Banquet Hall, located just outside the City of Turlock at 2017 E. Monte Vista Ave., are suing a pair of residential neighbors for at least what they claim to be $500,000 in loss of business, plus punitive damage, and they have filed an injunction to stop further complaints by the neighbors about loud music coming from the hall. Larsa Banquet Hall is a well-known location for events such as weddings, receptions, birthday celebrations and other social events.
