California State University, Stanislaus recently made a commitment to reduce domestic water use on campus.

However, the university still had sprinklers running Tuesday night, even after a couple days of heavy rainfall. Not to mention, many of the sprinklers around campus soak the walkways and parking lots just as much as the grass.

CSU Stanislaus Facility Services is looking to reduce water use from 24 million gallons in 2013 to 19 million gallons in 2014, by reducing running time and height of fountains. Other reductions are coming from reducing the amounts of water used for irrigation and landscaping.
