Renegade Brewing Supplies, a new business coming to Turlock, is bringing a passion for homebrewing and waging “special warfare” against bad beer.
The rivalry between the Turlock High School Bulldogs and Pitman High School Pride will be heating up as the culinary action spills to the outside for a battle of barbeque in this year’s Iron Chef competition. Pride and Bulldogs will have one hour to prepare three meals for five judges in the 4th edition of the annual contest. However, as with previous years, the challenge in Turlock’s iteration of Iron Chef, an event and fundraiser put on by Turlock Education Foundation, continues to evolve.
The annual Turlock Christmas Parade attracts thousands of residents every year and traverses the Downtown core. Vehicular traffic should be advised of the multiple road closures set up for this event. Every year, the parade begins on Canal Drive by Johnson Road, heads west on Main Street through Downtown Turlock, and then north on Broadway Avenue, eventually concluding at the the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.

Turlock's Pitman High School graduate and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick elicited a major media response when he was seen sitting down during the national anthem at preseason game. Kaepernick has since acknowledged his reasoning for the protest as being directed toward oppression experienced by people of color from police officers and others.
