On-Track Transitions Students Graduate

The Turlock Unified School District On-Track Transitions Program presented its Class of 2014 on May 21, during an inspirational and moving graduation ceremony at Donnelly Park. On-Track is a special program for 18 to 22-year-old young men and women with intellectual challenges. The program serves anywhere from 15 to 18 students and provides life skills instruction and vocational training.

MedicAlert Foundation Earns Customer Service Award

Turlock’s MedicAlert Foundation was awarded the 2014 Customer Relationship Management Excellence Award by Gartner and 1to1 Media at the Gartner Customer 360 Summit in Orlando on May 20.MedicAlert was honored for its customer service optimization project, known as PUMA (Phenomenal Undertaking at MedicAlert). The international nonprofit was presented the Bronze award in the Customer Service Initiative award category.

Parents "posted" a special birthday message for their teenager recently, covering this car with sticky notes of many colors."Happy Birthday!" was written on some of the notes for the new 18-year-old in what made for a very colorful surprise. The car, parked in a driveway on Berkeley Avenue, drew the attention and admiration of drivers and passersby. Covering cars with sticky notes has become more of a popular trend over the years, at least for those who have the patience.
