Turlock Unified School District said goodbye to beloved, longtime maintenance worker Vernon Storment, who retired after 26 years with the district.

Storment started at TUSD in March of 1988 when he served as a custodian at Turlock High School for three years. He then worked as a THS groundskeeper for 13 years before moving on to the maintenance department for the past 10 years.

His co-workers described him as fun-loving and he was known for his tremendous work ethic, leadership, willingness to teach others and his wonderful sense of humor.

Storment and his wife Donna will be moving to Greeley Hill and he will spend much more time fishing.
