Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse Tonight

Courtesy of NASA

Set that alarm tonight and catch a view of the full-blood moon.

Beginning at 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday morning a full-blood moon lunar eclipse will occur with a total eclipse expected to occur between 3:37 a.m. and 4:22 a.m.

Skies over the Turlock area are expected to be fully clear and the moon will be to the west over the Pacific Ocean.

The blood moon will be easily visible with the naked eye.

The closer to the total eclipse the more the moon will take on its blood orange color.

This lunar eclipse is the second of the 2014-2015 lunar tetrad, a series of four eclipses that occur six months apart over this year and next.
