Suspect With Meth Attempts to Destroy Evidence

A suspect stopped for a bicycle violation on Oct. 26 was arrested after allegedly being found with narcotics and attempting to destroy evidence.

Turlock police officers stopped Bret Jason Gerard, 40, at approximately 10:53 p.m. while he was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Lander Avenue and F Street.

Gerard was stopped by officers for riding his bicycle the wrong direction, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Stephen Webb.

Officers found that Gerard was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and a glass pipe for methamphetamine, said Webb.

Gerard allegedly attempted to resist arrest, and allegedly purposely broke the glass pipe while resisting officers, reports the Turlock Police Department.

Officers were able to apprehend Gerard and he was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a glass methamphetamine pipe, resisting arrest, and destroying evidence.
