Trio Arrested After Not Paying for Meals at Restaurant

A trio of diners were arrested on Sunday morning after attempting to leave a restaurant without paying for their meal.

The three diners entered the Perko’s Cafe, located at 151 N. Walnut Rd., for a meal on Sunday morning.

Following the meal, the restaurant called in to report the incident, as they believed the diners were going to leave without paying, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen.

The restaurant told police the diners were acting suspicious, said Webb.

Officers arrived just as the three diners were attempting to leave without paying for their meal to prevent them from fleeing, said Webb.

Following the apprehension of the suspects, the investigation revealed they did not have enough money on them to pay for the amount of food they ordered and they were planning on leaving without paying, said Webb.

Lori Davis, 52, Eric Lee Renfro, 44, and Jerry Bays, 30, were arrested for defrauding an innkeeper.
