On Monday, September 26th, 2022, at 6:13 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Hedstrom Rd and James Ln, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. The first one was a white Ford hatchback and the second one was a gray GMC SUV.
The white Ford hatchback had a single occupant, its driver, who suffered minor injuries, while the gray GMC SUV had three occupants, including two small children, all of which suffered minor injuries. All four were ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
The white Ford hatchback sustained major damage, while the gray GMC SUV sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
Witnesses who saw the collision stated that the white Ford hatchback was traveling eastbound on Hedstrom Rd from Gail Ave, while the gray GMC SUV was traveling westbound on Hedstrom Rd from Case Way. As the two vehicles approached each other near the intersection, the driver of the white Ford hatchback reportedly attempted to turn northbound onto James Ln and did so in the path of the gray GMC SUV, causing the collision. Both vehicles then came to final rest on the northwest corner of the intersection.
