Turlock Unified School District (TUSD) Board Meeting Agenda 04-09-13

The Turlock Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday evening – but not in their normal location.

The meeting, where Trustees will discuss the “BRIDGE” program for at-risk high schoolers, hear a budget update, and consider funding to hire new instructors, will be held at the Turlock High School Performing Arts Building instead.

On Tuesday, the TUSD Board of Trustees is scheduled to:
– Recognize and congratulate all K-12 TUSD students nominated for the 2013 Every Student Succeeding Program.
– Acknowledge and congratulate Pitman High School students for receiving first place and third place in the Turlock Irrigation District Take Action High School Video Contest. The board will also hear a brief update on TUSD’s Energy Conservation Program.
– Consider designating May 8 as California Day of the Teacher, as well as National School Nurses Day.
– Consider designating May 19-25 as Week of the Classified Employee.
– Approve the “BRIDGE” Program to be offered at Pitman and Turlock High Schools for at-risk 9th and 10th graders, beginning in the 2013/14 School Year.
– Authorize the Sale and Issuance of Refunding Bonds of the Turlock Unified School District and Related Actions authorizing the commencement of activities for the refinancing of the Measure D General Obligation Bonds.
– Approve the bid for the Brown School Roof Replacement Project, awarding the project to Pacific Valley Roofing.
– Hear information regarding the General Education Budget Report.
– Approve the Education Protection Account Spending Plan to fund $14,759,026 in salaries and salary-related benefits for 172 full-time teaching equivalents.
– Adopt the Education Protection Account Spending plan to fund $184,215 at the eCademy Charter at Crane School for salaries and salary-related benefits for three full-time teaching equivalents.

The TUSD Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Turlock High School Performing Arts Building, located at 1600 E. Canal Drive in Turlock.
