Live Video Stream and Online Voting for Dancing with the Turlock Stars Sold Out Fundraiser

The third year of Dancing With the Turlock Stars community fundraiser has sold out, again. However, the entertaining dance fundraising event is now being live video streamed and online voting will continue throughout the event! Members of the community are set to compete alongside seasoned dancers in order to benefit local charities and organizations, Covenant Care Hospice, Jessica's House, and the Turlock Salvation Army.

5th Annual Red, White, and Blue Run in Honor of 9/11

Turlock resident and Combat Infantry Veteran, Cory Smith, is hosting his 5th Annual Red, White, and Blue Run. The first year that Smith started this run, it was just himself and a fellow marine vet. Last year, nearly 500 people participated in the run, and the donations have doubled in amount each year.

Turlock Library Events in August

The Turlock Library has a variety of free programs for all ages planned for the month of August. On Aug. 9, anyone is welcome to created Upcycled Pencil Cases at 4 p.m. VCR cases among other materials will be used by crafters to make pencil cases. Children under 4 years of age will need direct parental supervision to participate.

Community Invited to National Night Out Event at Columbia Park

Every year, cities across the nation participate in National Night out, an event that helps strengthen the relationship between the community and police while barbecuing and having a great time. This will be Turlock’s 8th year participating in the event that the city has received an award from the National Association of Town Watch for the community’s participation.

Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven

It’s 50 years of one of America’s favorite frozen drinks! 7-Eleven’s Slurpee has turned 50, and, to celebrate its birthday, aka Free Slurpee Day, stop by the 7-Eleven today to get a free Slurpee. Turlock Irrigation District’s Canal Drive Weather Station is predicting a high 93 degrees today, and an ice cold drink can be great way to recharge from the summer heat.
