5th Annual Red, White, and Blue Run in Honor of 9/11

Turlock resident and Combat Infantry Veteran, Cory Smith, is hosting his 5th Annual Red, White, and Blue Run.

The first year that Smith started this run, it was just himself and a fellow marine vet. Last year, nearly 500 people participated in the run, and the donations have doubled in amount each year.

All of the money is donated to veteran organizations.

This year, Smith desires for the run to be bigger than ever, so he is asking people to let everyone know by sharing the event to bring awareness to the community.

The meeting point for the run will start at Donnelly Park on Sept. 11, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and continue down Geer Road toward Monte Vista Avenue, down to Golden State Boulevard, and then left back to Dels Lane.

It will end back at the park making about a 3.7 mile run.

Anyone and everyone is welcome. Contact Cory Smith for details at 209-345-3550.

If you would like to have anyone recognized, Smith will be placing flags at the end of the run for anyone killed in action whether it be military, police, firefighters or first responder.

If interested, send him the info and bring a flag to the run where he will post it in the ground and attach the info on the bottom.
