40th Annual Turlock Turkey Trot to be Held Nov. 22

The Turkey Trot is coming back to Turlock’s Donnelly Park for its 40th year on Saturday, Nov. 22.

There are two events, a 1-mile children’s stampede for children ages 12 and under beginning at 10:00 a.m., and a 2-mile fun run or walk for adults and children age 13 and up beginning at 10:20 a.m. Check in for the event begins at 9:15 a.m., rain or shine.

The Trot is open to who wishes to participate; one is not required to be a competitive runner, “just someone who wants to join and enjoy the morning,” said event organizer and Recreation Senior Supervisor of Turlock Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities, Mark Crivelli.

“It is a great local event the weekend before Thanksgiving for families who want to get out and do things together,” said Crivelli.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of different divisions, and per Turkey Trot tradition, prizes are frozen chicken and turkeys, and flats of eggs to help families during the holiday season.

To register online, visit the City of Turlock’s Parks, Recreation and Facilities website Turkey Trot registration section here. Registration is also available at the City of Turlock Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities office at 144 S. Broadway, or the morning of the event beginning at 9:15 a.m. at Donnelly Park, located at 600 Pedras Rd.

The cost for the 12 and under children’s stampede is $13 and the cost for adults and children over the age of 13 is $18. A limited number of event shirts are available with registration.

The Turlock Radio Club and Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) will assist as volunteers during the Trot.
