Fire and Ice Gala Heats Up Holidays, Raises Money for Emanuel

|

Emanuel Medical Center invites Turlock to heat up the holidays and support local hospice services and Jessica’s House, a grief support program for children and teens, at the annual Festival of Trees Gala and Auction.

This year’s theme is “Fire and Ice,” and Emanuel Medical Center will begin accepting reservation Oct. 22 thru Nov. 13 for the Dec. 7 dinner and auction. The black-tie preferred event will be held at the Assyrian American Civic Club at 2618 N. Golden State Blvd., from 5 p.m. to midnight. Valet parking will be provided. Seating is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Festival of Trees is always a special evening,” said John Sigsbury, Emanuel president and CEO. “It’s always wonderful to see so many people in the community come together to support these two important programs, and to celebrate the joy of the holidays together.”

The program includes a social hour and silent auction beginning at 5 p.m. with wine, champagne, premium drafts and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. with two entrée options: either a boneless beef short rib cooked with a Gorgonzola port wine reduction alongside garlic mashed potatoes swirled with cream cheese and roasted garlic; or a ditalini pasta with tomato confit tossed with Parmigiano-Reggiano and goat cheese then garnished with chives and basil.

After dinner, an exciting live auction kicks off for a variety of valuable items and experiences, then dancing to the music of The Valley Cats continues until midnight.

All proceeds – ticket sales, sponsorships, auction purchases, wine and beer sales and live tree sales – go directly to hospice services and Jessica’s House. Tickets are $200.

For more information, to reserve a table or to donate, contact Emanuel’s Office of Development at (209) 664-5180, or visit their new office at 2881 Geer Rd., Ste. A, in Turlock.
