Alleged Rapist Uses Instagram to Seek Out Teen Girl

Turlock police have arrested Eladio Ramirez, 22, of Modesto, on two counts of sodomy, two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, penetration with a foreign object and unlawful sexual intercourse after he used the social media site Instagram to seek out and meet up with a 14-year-old girl, who he allegedly sexually assaulted. If he was able to use the internet to organize this meeting, he could have also easily looked online for a site similar to this where you can find an escort Frankfurt based, there would have been plenty of similar services in or around Modesto.

Ramirez allegedly met the victim when he started following and then commenting on the girl’s Instagram when she was 13 years old. He eventually arranged to meet up with her.

According to Turlock Police Department Spokesperson Mayra Lewis, Ramirez met with the girl four times when he picked her up at her Turlock and Ceres homes. Her parents were unaware the girl was leaving the house with him.

On Nov. 24 a concerned passer-by reported seeing a girl sitting on the side of the road crying. The girl told the officer that she left her house without telling anyone, and when she came home a light was on in her home and she was afraid to go inside. The officer later learned that the girl had been meeting with Ramirez, and he turned over the information to detectives.

Detectives located Ramirez through Instagram and he was arrested on Dec. 4 at his Modesto home.

Lewis says that this is the first known sexual assault case involving Instagram in Turlock. Instagram profiles can be set to private or public and she encouraged parents or guardians to be aware of their children’s actions on social media.

“Parents really need to be aware of what is going on with their children online. This person (Ramirez) specifically sought the girl out,” she said.

Turlock police believe Ramirez may have used Instagram to contact and set up meetings with other victims.

Det. Jason Tosta encourages the public to contact him at 209-668-5550 at ext. 6624 if they have any concerns or information regarding this case or any similar situations.
