Alliance Offering Wage Reimbursement to Hire New Employees

Stanislaus County Alliance Worknet is offering wage reimbursement to local businesses who need to provide on-the-job training to a new employee.

Businesses that hire and train a person from Alliance Worknet’s pool of candidates may qualify for wage reimbursement. Stanislaus Alliance is also offering businesses the ability to refer a candidate of their choice, which the Alliance can screen and qualify for reimbursement. The offer stands through June 30.

The person must be a long-term unemployed job seeker. The Alliance is providing this offer in an effort to further their work in decreasing Stanislaus County unemployment rates. Alliance Worknet wants to assist businesses with what they refer to as “some of the extraordinary costs” of providing on-the-job training to a new employee.

The rate of wage reimbursement is based on the number of employees a business has. A business with zero to 50 employees may qualify for up to 90 percent reimbursement, a company with 51 to 250 employees may qualify for up to 75 percent reimbursement, and a company with 251 employees or more will qualify for a flat rate of 50 percent reimbursement. The Alliance stresses that the reimbursement rates provided are for the long-term unemployed (27 weeks or longer), or veterans.

Alliance Worknet will begin recruiting applicants for job openings within two business days of a given request. Also, the Alliance states applicants will be available to report to work within five business days from the time they are notified of a business’s selections.
