The California Highway Patrol has issued an Amber Alert, after a 13-year-old girl was taken hostage during an Oakland carjacking this afternoon.
According to the CHP, an unknown 35-year-old black male carjacked a 2001 red Infiniti QX4 sport utility vehicle at 12:40 p.m. in Oakland. The girl was in the SUV at the time of the carjacking.
The suspect is believed to be armed with a knife.
Anyone who sees the car is asked to call the Oakland Police Department at 510-238-3641, or to call 911.
