On Saturday, November 5th, 2022, at 1:57 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported attempted carjacking that had just occurred at Chevron Food Mart, 881 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock.
When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim who told them that she had arrived at the gas station and begun pumping gas into her vehicle. While waiting for it to fill up, she decided to sit inside her vehicle and was approached by a Hispanic man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. When the woman saw the man, she locked her doors. The man eventually pulled out a handgun and attempted to open the door, however, failed. He then tapped on the window, however, ran off when he noticed that the woman got on the phone.
Evidence at the scene showed that the man was associated with a white pickup truck that had been left behind.
