On Friday, September 4th, 2020, shortly before 2:10 pm, the Turlock Fire Department received a call of a grass fire behind the In-Shape Health Club located at 2710 Geer Rd. Engine 33 and Engine 34 were dispatched.
Engine 33 arrived on scene 4 minutes later. Upon their arrival, Captain 33 reported a grass fire growing at a slow rate of speed. Captain 33 assumed Geer command and had Firefighter 33 begin fire attack with their front bucket line. When Engine 34 arrived on scene, they were told to level one stage. The fire was knocked down and then extinguished shortly thereafter. Captain 33 then terminated Geer command and Engine 33 went clear and available.
This fire was in the same location as the fire two and a half weeks ago. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, however, is being investigated as an arson.
