On Thursday, August 11th, 2022, at 7:52 pm, Turlock Police investigators near the intersection of Lucinda Ave and Amaryllis Way, Keyes, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so they made a traffic stop on it.

Investigators had been surveilling the vehicle and its driver, Elizabeth Ordonez, 40, of Turlock, after determining that she was an associate of Aaron Martinez, 39, of Keyes, the man arrested the hour prior on attempted murder charges in connection to the shooting that had occurred a few hours prior at 76 DoubleTime, 101 N Tully Rd, Turlock.

While surveilling Ordonez shortly after Martinez’s arrest, investigators observed her carrying several bags from Martinez’s residence in the 5400 block of Ninth St, Keyes, and placing them in the bed of her vehicle. When she began to drive off, investigators followed her and that is when they made the traffic stop.

Ordonez’s vehicle was searched which led to the discovery of fentanyl pills, a large amount of methamphetamines, and evidence of narcotics sales.

Based on the evidence located in Ordonez’s vehicle, investigators obtained a search warrant for her residence in the 500 block of Vermont Ave, Turlock, and served it that night.

During the search of Ordonez’s residence, investigators, detectives, and officers located additional narcotics, narcotics sale paraphernalia, three replica firearms, a ballistic vest, and a jacket with law enforcement insignia.

Ordonez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of methamphetamines for sale, transporting or selling methamphetamines, and transporting or selling a controlled substance.

“Over thirty hours of continuous work between patrol officers, SIU, and detectives resulted in the arrest of an attempted homicide suspect and the dismantling of a major narcotics sales operation Martinez and Ordonez were responsible for,” said Turlock Police Detective Brandon Bertram. “This is yet another example of your police department’s relentless effort in keeping our neighborhoods safe,” he continued.

The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Detective Brandon Bertram at 209-664-7323.
